An AI agent that knows your energy system

Questions in plain language
Victron's VRM platform lets users and installers monitor their energy systems from anywhere. But finding an answer in all that data still takes knowledge of menus, charts and settings. Users just want to ask: why did my battery drop last night? Which of my systems runs old firmware?

Reliable, or not at all
A wrong answer about an energy system costs trust. Victron needed an assistant that uses real system data, knows the documentation, and is checked continuously.

A team of agents
El Niño's data science team built the VRM AI Agent and runs it in production. A supervisor agent reads each question and sends it to a specialised agent, for a single system or across all of a user's systems. They use tools that read live VRM data, and return charts or settings straight to the screen.

Knowledge from the source
The agent draws on a knowledge base built from Victron's documentation and community answers. So it helps with troubleshooting, not just with numbers.

Ask a question in plain language and the agent builds the chart from live system data, ready to add to your dashboard.

Tested like software, reviewed by people

Every change is evaluated
Every change runs through automated tests and evaluations. Multi-turn conversations are replayed against the live agent, and a second AI acts as judge: it scores each answer on correctness and on staying within what VRM can actually do. Tester personas play different types of users.

Human oversight, every week
A weekly review job reads all chats, labels them and spots recurring patterns. Our team reads the result in an oversight dashboard: the weekly report, the labelled chats and how each pattern trends over time. That is how we continuously improve the assistant.

The agent can also set up alarms for you. It suggests thresholds, and you review them before anything is saved.

The result

VRM users get answers about their own system in plain language, based on live data and Victron's own documentation. And because the agent is measured and reviewed every week, it keeps getting better.
